The short version
Eight characters are fixed at the moment you are born. Two for the year, two for the month, two for the day, two for the hour. Korean readers call those eight characters your saju.
Most readings hand you conclusions. Be careful this year. Money comes after thirty five. You are a strong personality. You walk out with a list and no idea where any of it came from.
I write the reason next to every conclusion. Which of the eight characters I am looking at, what it is sitting next to, which season it fell in. If you disagree with me, you can see exactly where we parted ways.
"Other places tell you this year is like this, be careful about that. But you walk out not knowing why they said it. Here the reasons and the conclusions are in the same document."
The painting
Before the writing starts, I turn the eight characters into a single landscape.
Wood becomes a tree or a vine. Fire becomes the sun or a lamp. Earth becomes a hill or a field. Metal becomes ore or a blade. Water becomes a river or dew. The season you were born in sets the light and the weather. What you have a lot of fills the frame. What you do not have is simply absent from the picture. I do not paint in a river to make the scene prettier.
No two charts produce the same painting, so no two paintings come out alike. It goes on the cover of your report and again inside, with a short poem written for that chart alone.
People tell me the picture is where they understood themselves first, before they read a word. That is the point of it. A table of eight characters means nothing to someone who has never seen one. A landscape you can read at a glance.
What is actually in the report
- Your eight characters, fully laid out, with how to read the table printed underneath it
- The painting and its poem
- Where your five elements sit, what is crowded and what is missing
- Your ten forces, ordered by how much of each you carry
- The ten year cycles to age one hundred, then the coming decade year by year, then the coming year month by month
- Money, work, love and health, each read separately, each closing with a plain summary
- A short story written from your chart, at the end
It runs to roughly fifty pages as a PDF. You can look through a whole sample copy before you decide anything.
Three things I will not do
I will not frighten you. Difficult stretches go in, because leaving them out would make the report useless. But a hard passage never appears without something you can do about it. I do not sell talismans, and I do not recommend rituals.
I will not tell you your future is fixed. Saju describes tendencies and timing. It does not describe events. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling certainty, which is the one thing this cannot give you.
I will not claim to get it right. I read what is in the eight characters and I show my reasoning. Whether it fits your life is yours to judge, and you have the reasoning in front of you to judge it with.
Where to start
If saju is new to you, start with what saju actually is. It takes about five minutes and the rest of the site makes more sense afterwards.
Found saju through K-culture? If you watched Battle of Fates (운명전쟁49), are planning to try a saju cafe in Seoul, or keep noticing fortune telling in K-dramas, those pages start from there.
If you already know your day master, the ten pages below go through each one. If you do not know it yet, the primer explains how to find it.
And if you want to hear it from people who have read one, here is what they said.
